French Saint Pageant (2026)
By Joe Wilson
At the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, Christians worldwide were shocked by a blasphemous mockery of the Last Supper as portrayed by ugly transsexuals. This past Saturday night, in front of 80,000 cheering Frenchmen and the Vicar of Christ himself, Catholic France delivered its answer. During a prayer vigil celebrating the Pope’s visit to Paris, French Catholics put on a pageant celebrating France’s impressive lineup of saints. Starting with the tradition of Mary Magdalene and Lazarus coming to France to evangelize, the pageant moved through French martyrs under Roman persecution, the baptism of Clovis and evangelization of the Franks, monastic saints, the glory of the High Middle Ages under St. Louis IX, a triumphal entry by St. Joan of Arc riding her horse directly up to the Holy Father and doing him homage, various French Marian apparitions, and modern saints on bikes and automobiles (including the incredibly cute touch of having Sts. Louis and Zelie Martin on a tandem bike). All this was accompanied by a beautiful musical medley weaving together Gregorian Chant, traditional French hymns, and polyphony performed by a live choir and orchestra. The production level was incredibly impressive, with each saint decked out in era-appropriate costumes with the various symbols associated with them, several scenes on horseback, well-cued lighting and voiceover work, and a huge firework finale when all the saints together approached the papal throne.
