There’s been some speculation that _Chef_ is an allegory for Jon Favreau’s negative experience making _Iron Man 2,_ and that it’s the kind of movie he wishes he could make more of. If so, the fact that he’s been directing mediocre-to-awful Disney franchise movies exclusively since then is sadly ironic.
Chef is a go-to comfort food movie for me and my wife! Also very quotable. “IT’S MOLTEN!!!” Great choice to include it here.
Sounds a bit like the theme of Babette’s Feast, a movie my husband and I make a point of watching every year in anticipation of Easter.
